Gibson Tak Matsumoto Doublecut Custom

Tak's worldwide success has spawned the release of seven Gibson signature models, the latest of which—and arguably the most elegant—is the new Tak Matsumoto DC Custom from the Gibson Custom Shop. This guitar follows Tak's preferred offset double-cutaway take on the hallowed Les Paul, and dresses up the package in the elegant Custom attire as conceived by Les Paul and Ted McCarty in 1954. As such, the Tak Matsumoto DC Custom wears a hand-sprayed, high-gloss nitrocellulose finish in Ebony with traditional Custom appointments such as mother-of-pearl block fingerboard inlays, multi-ply body binding, gold hardware and mother-of-pearl split-diamond headstock logo.

The Tak Matsumoto DC Custom begins with the time-tested pairing of a solid, one-piece mahogany body joined to a carved plain maple top. A pair of Gibson's finest high-performance PAF-style humbucking pickups takes the Tak Matsumoto DC Custom right over the top. The classic pairing of gold-plated ABR-1 bridge and lightweight aluminum stopbar tailpiece work toward excellent sustain in partnership with a PLEK-cut Corian™ nut. Prices for The Tak Matsumoto DC Custom is $ 5.762, which I see from Gibson official web.

Epiphone Tak Matsumoto DC Standard PlusTop

This time someone from Asia in collaboration with Tak Matsumoto was designing an Epiphone guitar exclusively to Japan, namely the new Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top.

Just like all great Les Pauls, the Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top Cherry Outfit has a solid Mahogany body for a broad, rich, ringing tone with outstanding harmonic color and an extremely well-balanced frequency range. Both the top and neck feature single layer black binding and the color finish comes in gorgeous Black Cherry.

For the Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top Cherry Outfit, we use a Zebra Open-Coil Gibson USA BurstBucker 2 in the neck position which is wounded toward the middle of the range of original PAFs for a warm, thick vocal tone. For the bridge position, we use a Zebra Open-Coil Gibson USA BurstBucker 3, which emulates the hotter PAFs, giving you more wail and crunch from the bridge position.Unlike original PAFs that are nearing the end of their life, these BurstBuckers™ are vacuum potted to combat microphonic squeal at high volume.

The Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top features Epiphone's LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge and StopBar tailpiece, which combines precise adjustment for intonation and action with rock-solid resonance. Control knobs are Gold Top Hats with metal points. The vintage style machine heads have a 14:1 ratio and feature "Tulip" style buttons. The Plus Top also includes Epiphone Strap-locks. And best of all, each new Tak Matsumoto Signature DC Standard Plus Top comes with a custom hard case featuring the Tak Matsumoto signature and a certificate of authenticity.
