Epiphone Tak Matsumoto DC Standard PlusTop

This time someone from Asia in collaboration with Tak Matsumoto was designing an Epiphone guitar exclusively to Japan, namely the new Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top.

Just like all great Les Pauls, the Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top Cherry Outfit has a solid Mahogany body for a broad, rich, ringing tone with outstanding harmonic color and an extremely well-balanced frequency range. Both the top and neck feature single layer black binding and the color finish comes in gorgeous Black Cherry.

For the Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top Cherry Outfit, we use a Zebra Open-Coil Gibson USA BurstBucker 2 in the neck position which is wounded toward the middle of the range of original PAFs for a warm, thick vocal tone. For the bridge position, we use a Zebra Open-Coil Gibson USA BurstBucker 3, which emulates the hotter PAFs, giving you more wail and crunch from the bridge position.Unlike original PAFs that are nearing the end of their life, these BurstBuckers™ are vacuum potted to combat microphonic squeal at high volume.

The Tak Matsumoto DC Standard Plus Top features Epiphone's LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge and StopBar tailpiece, which combines precise adjustment for intonation and action with rock-solid resonance. Control knobs are Gold Top Hats with metal points. The vintage style machine heads have a 14:1 ratio and feature "Tulip" style buttons. The Plus Top also includes Epiphone Strap-locks. And best of all, each new Tak Matsumoto Signature DC Standard Plus Top comes with a custom hard case featuring the Tak Matsumoto signature and a certificate of authenticity.

peel off pickguard Film on the guitar

First-time instrument buyers are sometimes a little dismayed to notice that the pickguard on their new guitar or bass looks weird—kind of dull, and maybe already scratched up quite a bit. Because most new guitars and basses come with a protective film of clear plastic covering the pickguard. This film protects the pickguard during shipping and retail display. It is this thin film that looks worn and faded, not the pickguard itself. And this clear plastic film is meant to be removed.

With all speed, peel that film off. Although it peels off easily, it might get a little tricky around pickguard screws or control knobs. If that happens, just loosen the pickguard screws slightly, remove the plastic stuck around them, and re-tighten them. Once the plastic film has been removed, your pickguard will look like it’s supposed to—nice and shiny and flat and new.

Sometimes it’s more obvious that a plastic pickguard film is present because it’ll have printing and graphics on it clearly not intended be a permanent feature of the pickguard itself. Further, other parts of your guitar may also be covered with removable plastic film, such as the screw-on covers of rear instruments routs and compartments.

The new Epiphone Ultra-339

For guitarists seeking the power of the Ultra-III's breakthrough electronics in an ES-style guitar, Epiphone is proud to announce the new Ultra-339. Featuring Epiphone's legendary ES semi-hollow body construction in a reduced sized, the new Ultra-339 will take your guitar playing to the Ultra-level!

The ES-335, the first in the ES series, was an instant success. The new Epiphone Ultra-339 is the perfect remedy, featuring smaller body dimensions while still retaining the bell-like tone the ES series is famous for. And best of all, the Ultra-339 is loaded with Ultra technology!

The Ultra-339 comes in three beautiful color finishes: Cherry, Natural and Vintage Sunburst. At the heart of the new Ultra-339 are two pickup systems. The classic pickup system features Epiphone's new ProBucker™ humbucker pickups—a ProBucker-2™ in the neck position and a ProBucker-3™ in the bridge position.

The second pickup system features Shadow™ Germany's patented NanoMag™ pickup embedded discretely at the end of the fingerboard. Featuring three samarium cobalt magnets, an air coil, and active electronics, this low-impedance pickup captures subtle body acoustics and string harmonics. Two additional LED's on the pickup mounting ring provide a visual indicator of which pickup system is active (Red=NanoMag; Blue-Magnetic or Red/Blue=Both).

The AX3000G guitar effects processor

Previously I've also written articles for bass korg guitar effects, namely Korg AX3000B Bass Effects, and it's very similar shape with which I will discuss this, namely The AX3000G guitar effects processor, it's just a special AX3000G is used for electric guitars, and AX3000B used for bass guitar, and the effect is the same both production KORG.
A modeling signal processor that sets a new standard in guitar effects! Featuring Korg's proprietary "REMS" modeling technology, the AX3000G guitar effects processor delivers high-quality modeling sounds and numerous ways to control those sounds in real time. With an expression pedal, a control switch, and an expression step sequencer, the AX3000G modeling signal processor has all the elements a guitarist needs to fulfill his expressive vision.

The Korg AX3000G packs 72 types of amp models and effect sounds delivered by Korg's world-acclaimed "REMS" modeling technology. In addition to using the AX3000G's expression pedal in standard ways, such as to control volume or wah, you can freely assign the pedal to a variety of effect parameters for unrivaled expressive control. There is virtually no limit to the new sounds you can create using the expression pedal on this powerful guitar effects processor.

The Expression Step Sequencer (ESS) automatically controls most effect parameters in a fixed or random step function. You can assign up to eight steps of guitar effect parameter values in the step sequencer, and specify one of seven ways in which the sequencer will play back these steps: Forward, Backward, Alternate 1/2, Random, Forward (one-shot), and Alternate 1/2 (one-shot). This lets you create sounds with complex movements that were unachievable in a guitar effects processor until now.
