Alice Cooper Announces New Lineup

After four decades of world tours, Alice Cooper is still happy to hit the road having announced his "No More Mr Nice Guy" tour for 2011.

His new lineup consists of two new guitarists Steve Hunter and Tommy Henriksen, and drummer Glen Sobel. Damon Johnson will stay on as third guitarist, as will Chuck Garrick on bass.

Cooper commented on the new members: "Steve’s always been one of my favourite guitarists since the first time I ever heard him play, and I’ve been working with Tommy a lot on the new album.

"We will miss [former members] Jimmy and Kerri, but I know we will be sharing a stage again in the future."

Specific tour dates have not been released, but it is expected to commence in North America from May 12th, before moving to South America, England and Europe, and back to North America to finish in August. Cooper is also reported to be guesting on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Friday March 18th.

In other news, his original lineup will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next week. Cooper has been eligible for the award for 16 years, but despite nine gold or platinum albums, he only made the ballot for the first time last year. Rob Zombie is reported to be presenting the award.

Apparently Cooper has been keen to win the award for some time. "Every year, it's this new outrage. I was sitting there, going, 'Calm down. Don't worry. Our time will come.’"
